exam and certification.
Bariatric Laparoscopic Surgery represents the future of care for reducing the burden of metabolic
disorders in India. This field has evolved into a niche that demands a high level of skill, and it is
essential that we stay updated with the latest knowledge from the masters of Bariatric Surgery.
Bariatric surgeries are rapidly advancing in the Western world, with life-changing outcomes for
patients suffering from chronic diseases. Over the course of three days, participants will engage
with the latest technology modules, led by experts in the field. A live demonstration of cutting-edge
minimally invasive procedures will be a key component of the program.
Dr. Ramen Goel, Dr. Sanjay Sonar, Dr. Sadashiv Chaudhari, Dr. Manoj Jain, and Dr. Hemant Patil have
worked diligently to ensure that this course is immensely valuable for all participants.
We warmly welcome you to join this intensive academic program at FALS Bariatric 2024.
Dear colleagues,
Bariatric surgery is a tool to be used along with diet and exercise to achieve a healthier life. The
type of surgery that’s best for you depends on your health history and your bariatric surgeon. Which
can help you determine the best option.
Weight loss surgery does not just treat the disease of obesity but it treats other conditions like
diabetes, heart disease, high blood pressure, arthritis, and acid reflux. In addition, surgery greatly
reduces the risk of death from cancer, diabetes, heart disease, and other diseases.
It gives me immense pleasure in organising the FALS Bariatric course at Wockhardt Hospital Mumbai
with Dr. Ramen Goel sir and our team of IAGES dignitaries. We have worked hard to bring the
best in academics in this program and hope that the delegates take back great teaching material
from Wockhardt hospital.
Dear colleagues,
It gives me immense pleasure to welcome you all to the FALS – Bariatric Surgery course held between
22 - 24 November, 2024 at Mumbai under the leadership of Dr. Ramen Goel. Bariatric Surgery
today forms a significant part of practice for a lot of practicing Minimal Access Surgeons. With
rising burden of disease our country needs more and more surgeons to take up bariatric surgery
as a speciality. Keeping this in mind IAGES has curated this course to not only benefit upcoming
surgeons but also for practicing surgeons to upgrade their knowledge and skills.
This FALS course is spread over three days with two days of didactics and one day for workshop.
During the event you will witness a number of leaders and experts in the field impart knowledge
and share their vast experience.
I wish Dr Ramen Goel and his team a very successful event. I also wish each and every delegate a
fruitful, enriching experience in the city of Mumbai.
